If I open a bank account with my Social Security check directly deposited may be garnished? I wanted to open a new checking account, but I've heard that a creditor freeze my funds due to pay an invoice. I had my checking account, but before i closed because people tell me that. I remember when I had my old bank account, I have a payday loan and not paid for what I have in my checking account, but I had given them a check from the account. is that the only reason we were able to do that? can credit card companies and other bill collectors come into my checking account despite his disability check (the only people who can spice up a social security check from the IRS, government and child support)?
